If there is one word that best captures Singapore, it is“unique”. A dynamic city rich in contrast and colour, you'll find a harmonious blend of culture, cuisine, arts and architecture here. Brimming with unbridled energy, this little dynamo in Southeast Asia embodies the finest of both East and West. A single day can take you from the past to the future - from exotic-ethnic enclave to efficient business centre, from serene gardens to sleek skyscrapers. You can start your day with a hearty breakfast amidst lush vegetation with Singapore’s very own orangutang. Then take a step back in time as you enter a traditional Chinese temple, Muslim mosque, Hindu temple and Christian church - all in the same neighbourhood. You can then return to the present by strolling down Orchard Road, picking up the latest fashion trends and entertaining local catch phrases along the way.

SUN 19 JULY 2020 - SINGAPORE

Meet our private guide this morning for a half day tour of Singapore. First, we will visit Little India – a haven of Indian culture and ethnicity that embodies the vibrant and colourful pulse of the Indian community in Singapore. Next, drive to the mouth of the Singapore River. The Merlion, a national icon representing Singapore’s humble beginning as a fishing village is located here. The Merlion Park set against the City as backdrop is a sight not to be missed.

Drive past the Financial District to Chinatown and discover the rich heritage of Chinatown through insightful stories. Singapore’s largest ethnic group, the Chinese, first settled here and yet right in its midst you’ll find one of our oldest and picturesque HinduTemple. Our last stop is the Singapore Botanic Gardens, the ‘green lung’ of our city. Experience the calm and serenity of this 52 hectares garden. Located within the grounds is the National Orchid Garden where you can marvel at the wide and colourful variety of Orchids on display.

Return to our hotel where the remainder of the day and evening is at leisure.

Radisson Blu Hotel

Accommodation for 1 night including breakfast and early check-in on 21 July

With its myriad of canals (165 to be precise), Amsterdam has developed into one of the world’s most accessible and top tourist attractions. As the city of Amsterdam is so compact it has a unique feel to it, with all its different races and religions living harmoniously together. The City came to life in the thirteenth century when a small settlement emerged at the Dam on the River Amstel, hence giving the city its name. Despite a lot changing since the early days it still has a small town feel with many of the current buildings, houses and architecture worthy of museum status. The locals are very proud of their history and this is made apparent by Amsterdam’s vast array of museums. The amazing architecture of the Rijksmuseum (built in 1885) and the contrast of the modern Van Gogh building take centre stage on the Museum Plein.

Continue to Volendam, a village of fishermen, music and cheese. One of the most characteristic things about Volendam are its traditional costumes, sometimes still worn by its inhabitants. The town has a quaint town centre, with wonderful architecture and well-reserved streets.

Enjoy a visit to The Cheese Factory, one of the newest attractions in the town. Despite the name, it’s much more than a factory – it is an interactive experience that will introduce us to the wonders of Dutch cheese. Find out where cheese comes from, how it was first made and how it is produced today.

At the conclusion of your tour, continue to Amsterdam where we will embark our cruise.

WED 22 JULY 2020  -  EMBARK SHIP

WED 22 JULY 2020  -  AMSTERDAM

Meet our private guide this morning for a 6-hour tour to Marken and Volendam.

Marken is one of the Netherlands' most traditional fishing communities. Separated from the mainland by a storm in the thirteenth century, the isolated local population made their living as fishermen. It was not until 1957 that Marken was reconnected with the mainland when a causeway was built. The result is a beautiful time-passed hamlet that is perfectly quaint, well-preserved and surprisingly quiet. While here we will visit the Wooden Shoe Factory. Admire the wooden shoes (clogs) and experience how clogs are made according to a century’s old tradition. During one of the demonstrations, a simple block of wood is transformed into a beautiful clog in just a few minutes.
